class=\"wp-block-heading\">Education<\/h3>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Professor of Engineering and Technical Sciences, specializing in chemical engineering. He obtained his Master of Science in Engineering degree from the Faculty of Chemical Engineering at the Warsaw University of Technology in 2002. In 2007, he defended his doctoral thesis at NOVA University Lisbon (Portugal), where he subsequently also obtained his habilitation. In 2022, upon the recommendation of the Council of Scientific Excellence, the President of the Republic of Poland awarded him the title of Professor of Engineering and Technical Sciences. He is the author of over 130 scientific publications cited more than 8,000 times, two books, numerous monograph chapters, and six patents, including international ones.    <\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Experience<\/h3>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A chemical engineer and an expert in research, innovation, and international cooperation. Immediately prior to assuming the role of Acting Director of the \u0141ukasiewicz \u2013 Institute of Organic Industry, he served as Director of the Research, Innovation, and Commercialization Department at the \u0141ukasiewicz Centre and as the \u0141ukasiewicz Research Network President\u2019s Plenipotentiary for International Relations.  <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In 2025, he was appointed to the European Commission\u2019s Group of Chief Scientific Advisors, where he helps formulate independent recommendations addressing key challenges facing the European Union. He is also a member of the EARTO Executive Board, contributing to the shaping of European research and innovation policy. In Poland, he serves on the Main Council of Science and Higher Education and advises the Ministry of Science on the internationalization of science, the development of research infrastructure, and the updating of the State Science Policy.  <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For nearly 20 years, he pursued a research career in Portugal\u2014primarily at the National Laboratory for Energy and Geology (LNEG)\u2014where, as a senior researcher, he led projects in bioenergy, biofuels, and the circular economy. He collaborated with the European Commission (DG RTD) on research infrastructure development and innovation funding, as well as with European technology platforms, including ETIP Bioenergy. His research interests focus on green chemistry, renewable energy, and biorefineries. A graduate of Warsaw University of Technology, Faculty of Chemical and Process Engineering, as well as the Faculty of Production Engineering, where she studied Management and Marketing. She also completed postgraduate studies in Research Project Management and Commercialisation of Research Results at Kozminski University (IPMA Level D Certificate).  <\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Experience<\/h3>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Currently Deputy Director for Finance and Operations at the \u0141ukasiewicz Research Network \u2013 Institute of Industrial Organic Chemistry. Previously, she served as Deputy Director for Finance and Administration and as Deputy Director for Economic Affairs and Administration at the same Institute.<br \/>From 2000 to 2015, she held a number of positions, including Deputy Director for Economic and Organisational Affairs at the Institute for Fuels and Renewable Energy; Director\u2019s Representative for Research Projects and Director\u2019s Representative for Organisational Affairs at the Industrial Automotive Institute. She also worked as an R&amp;D infrastructure expert under the 2007\u20132013 Operational Programmes, as a financial expert for the Polish Agency for Enterprise Development (PARP), and provided advisory services to SMEs as part of a project concerning the privatisation of chemical plants, including Z.Ch.
