The popularization of science among young people is of key importance. It develops critical thinking and analytical skills, teaching young individuals how to ask questions, analyze data, and draw conclusions. Fascination with science encourages them to experiment and create innovative solutions, which can lead to groundbreaking discoveries.
Therefore, on June 7th, 250 students from grades IV-VII of primary schools were able to participate in several hours of workshops and demonstrations organized by our Institute as part of the ministerial program Social Responsibility of Science.
Volcanoes, chemical experiments, dry ice, cells, ladybugs, earthworms, algae, plants, bees, birds, bison, rescue maneuvers, police weapons, first aid – this was just a small glimpse of the attractions awaiting our participants.
Unforgettable experiences, but most importantly, a wealth of knowledge, left the young people leaving the workshops satisfied and intrigued by both the scientific experiments, the work of scientists, and the Institute itself.
It is through such initiatives that science becomes more accessible and appealing, which can influence children’s future interests and educational paths. The science workshops at our branch in Pszczyna was the first such large event, but certainly not the last.
