We had the pleasure of representing Poland during the 65th session of the ECOSOC Subcommittee on the Transport of Dangerous Goods, which took place in Geneva on 25.11–03.12.2024. PhD Daniel Buczkowski, together with representatives of the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport Technical Supervision, actively participated in the creation of global safety standards.

During the deliberations, we discussed, among others, the classification of phlegmatized (desensitized) nitrocellulose, requirements for packaging used for the transport of dangerous goods, changes in testing methods for dangerous materials, determining the conditions for the transport of small quantities of dangerous substances and problems related to the transport of lithium batteries and cells.

Thanks to the common standards that we co-create, the transport of dangerous materials is becoming increasingly safer, and Polish science has a chance to mark its presence on the international stage.
