Lukasiewicz – IPO at the 64th meeting of the ECOSOC Subcommittee on the Transport of Dangerous Goods!
We are proud to announce that the representative of the Łukasiewicz – Institute of Organic Industry, Grzegorz Ołowski, took part in the 64th meeting of the ECOSOC Subcommittee on the Transport of Dangerous Goods, which took place on 24.06-3.07.2024 in Geneva!
What does the ECOSOC TDG Committee do?
The Committee is a key unit within the UN Economic and Social Council, responsible for developing global standards for the safe transport of hazardous materials, such as chemicals, explosives and radioactive substances.
The topics discussed at the 64th session included:
- Testing of emulsion matrices of explosives.
- Permitted packaging for water-based paints.
- Approval of a new type of gas tank.
- Issues related to lithium and sodium batteries.
We are proud to have contributed to improving the safety of the global transport of dangerous goods. This is an important step towards greater involvement in international safety initiatives and the harmonisation of regulations.
