Deputy Minister Maria Mrówczyńska visits Łukasiewicz – Institute of Industrial Organic Chemistry
On January 16, we had the pleasure of hosting Prof. Maria Mrówczyńska, Undersecretary of State at the Ministry of Science and Higher Education. The visit provided an excellent opportunity to present the key areas of research and production activities of our Institute and discuss plans for its further development.
During the visit, the Minister had the opportunity to familiarize herself with the activities of the High Energy Materials Research Group and Chemical Safety and Static Electricity Laboratory. She had the opportunity to view our laboratory-scale production line for manufacturing propellant pulp. The meeting also included a demonstration of the functioning of detonating cords and the explosive properties of plastic explosive materials in a specialized blast chamber.
Additionally, the Minister was introduced to modern analytical devices. These instruments enable, among other things, the analysis of pesticide residues in environmental and agricultural samples, as well as conducting the registration analyses required of producers before introducing their products to the market.
The importance of the laboratory’s certifications, which confirm the high quality and reliability of the research conducted, was emphasized during the visit. Investment plans related to equipping the Institute with resources obtained from the National Recovery Plan (NRP) were also discussed. Among the planned initiatives is the establishment of a modern mineral analysis laboratory.
One of the highlights of the visit was the presentation of the production of amitraz, a key agent in combating bee diseases.
The meeting provided an excellent opportunity to exchange experiences and showcase the innovative solutions implemented at our Institute. We thank the Minister for her visit and constructive discussions.
