On June 6, our Pszczyna Branch hosted unique science workshops for students from the Pszczyna district and young people from the Czech Republic as part of the Erasmus+ program.
Under the patronage of the Pszczyna District Governor and as part of the Social Responsibility of Science program, young people had the opportunity to learn about science from a practical perspective.
Workshop participants had the opportunity to explore six diverse scientific stations:
🧪 Chemical Experiments – hands-on activities using professional laboratory equipment.
🔬 Aquatic Organisms – sampling and microscopic observation of phyto- and zooplankton.
🔎 Escape Room – puzzles and ciphers requiring lab skills, calculations, and insect identification.
🪱 Soil Organisms – microscopic analysis, weighing, seed identification, and observing a spray chamber in action.
🐝 Pollinators – learning about the developmental stages of pollinating insects, beekeeping tools, honey extraction, and candle-making.
🧫 Alternative Research – pipetting, microorganism counting, and histopathological experiments.
This event not only brought closer the real application of biology and chemistry, but also aroused curiosity, openness to science and interest in the profession of a scientist. Such initiatives are crucial for building a conscious, modern society in which knowledge and practice go hand in hand.
💡 Science is interesting. You just have to show it well – we do it!
